“The Little Dreamers”


Newest to Pinoy Dream Academy Second Season is the launching of the Little Dreamers last July 6, 2008. It will give ways to children ages 6 to 10 years old of reaching their dream of becoming a star.
Only twelve were chosen to become a little scholar of the Academy. Opposite to the older scholar, they will not stay on the Academy but come for a voice lesson from the Voice Mentors on weekends because of their regular classes’ schedules.
The twelve children who get in the competition were Allen Angelo, 6 from Oriental Mindoro, Ana Mae, 6 of Las Piňas City, Dean, 7 from Laguna, Jerome, 7 from Marikina City, Kelly, 8 from Valenzuela City, Nikki, 8 from Nueva Ecija, Cristina, 9 from Cavite, Philip, 9 from General Santos, Risie, 9 from Palawan, Aubrey, 10 from Batangas, Leon, 10 from Quezon City and Shane, 6 from Bulacan.
Little Dreamers also go through a series of elimination process done every week where one scholar will be expelled in the Academy.
Considering that they were children, grades will not be stated. An Outstanding Little Dreamer or equivalent as Star Scholar for the older scholars are picked instead. Two scholars can be picked if they got the same grade from the judges. Two scholars however will be labeled as NI or “Needs Improvement” and will become a probationary scholars.
On the beginning of the class on Fridays, the class cards of the students will be distributed. The one with “NI” will be the probationary students of the week while the one with a “star” will be safe from being a probationary.
In the beginning of the show during the Gala Nights, probationary scholars are already revealed to the viewers were voting will be open from the start of the show till the program will end. One of the scholar who was labeled as NI will be expelled according to the choice of the public.
Resident Jurors were Jimmy Antiporda and Aiza Seguerra. Like the big dreamers, Little Dreamers will be judge by different Guest Jurors on every Gala Performance held on Sunday nights.
Philip top the class for being the Outstanding Little Dreamer for four times followed by Amy, Angelo, Cristina, Dean, and Risie who all got the award three times. Nikki and Jerome made it for two times while Leon and Kelly only made it ones.
Shane, Leon and Jerome however left the Academy after the three different expulsions where the three was a part of the “NI” scholar and belonging to the class bottom of two.
These little children but with big dreams will prove the Filipino talents in singing and will soon to give pride to our country. Five Little scholars will also be competing for the grand prize and be declared as the First Little Big Star Winner.
