A Very Special Love


The public taste again another blockbuster hit from Star Cinema with its newest movie “A very Special Love” that features John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo’s first team-up in the big screen.
Directed by Director Cathy-Garcia Molina, it was released in theaters last July 30, 2008. The movie has gain Rated A by the Cinema Evaluation board.
It’s a romantic-comedy film that evolves on the life of two people who were seemingly different from each other. Lead by Sarah Geronimo who takes the role of Laida Magtalas and John Lloyd Cruz as Miggy Montenegro with the participations of Joross Gamboa, Matet de Leon, Al Tantay, Geo Alvares, and Irma adlawan, Marianna del Rio, Miles Ocampo and Cj Jaravatta.
Laida is portrayed a role of a woman who wanted to work for her family and dream that someday she will meet the man of her dreams,Miggy Montenegro. Miggy Montenegro is the youngest of the Montenegro clan- a well established family in the business world. Laida always dream of meeting Miggy in person.
She finally realized her dream when she applied as Editorial assistant in Miggy’s newly establish men’s magazine. She thinks that working with him will get her closer to him. Fortunately she was hired and so overwhelmed of being near with her “Prince Charming”.
She considers it as destiny to be with him and blinded herself to realities that Miggy is too far from the person she used to imagine. They too have great differences with their behaviors. Laida is bubbly and warm hearted while Miggy appears to be a slave-driver, hotheaded, impatient and who always believes that he is always right in everything.
Everyone are intimidated with Miggy except Laida who continuously blinded by her feelings with her boss. She keeps on defending her dream man and her loyalty to Miggy created a gossip in their office regarding her feelings towards him.
To protect herself she reveals to everyone the personal life of Miggy. She earns her ire and was shouted by him for the first time. It opens Laida’s man to reality about the man of his dream. With Laida’s wakening, Miggy also realized why people don’t like him.
The simpleton Laida is the first person who let him face that he is wrong. No one has ever corrected him and has dared to suggest anything and give their opinions. No one has ever talked back from him except Laida and he began to wonder that he himself is the noble cause of his failures.
For the first time he learns to apologize. Laida open up Miggy’s world to something he considered as his “first”. He taught Miggy how to become a team player and the value of loyalty.
But her presence can’t even clear the shadows that Miggy’s family casted unto him. He is still pulled back from his own ways by the conflicts he have with his siblings. But Laida never gives up helping Miggy with everything she knows.
Will two people with very mismatching personalities but with a common goals and interest can figure out a perfect pair? How two different worlds can meet and proves that a very special love is really unconditional!
